  • Abstract
Images are usually consists of motion translation from one frame to another frame. Motion translation is represented by the pixels value changes based on the pixel density. The motion transition process from one frame to another frame is called motion estimation. Motion estimation is a process to determine the motion vector which represents the motion translation in the successive frames. There are few type of techniques used for motion estimation but the most popular technique applied in motion estimation is the block matching technique. In this paper, a study is conducted to combine the block matching and block based positioning subtraction technique. The block based positioning subtraction technique extracts region of interest of an image into small 8×8 blocks of different frames at the exact location. The pixel value of the extracted blocks will be subtracted and analyzed for motion estimation. The block based positioning subtraction technique reduces the processing time, save memory space in terms of computational complexity.
