Abstract
This paper investigates the surface plasmon modes (TMo polarized modes) on a weakly guided optical fiber covered by a thin palladium film, surrounded by air with an hydrogen saturation. The dispersion curves are calculated as a function of fiber radius and film thickness. The attenuation is estimated between 10times104 and 2479.5 nm wavelengths, and the original results obtained are very interesting to understand the plasmon modes behavior of this structure.
