Abstract :
A new current peak, the τ-peak, whose appearance temperature is higher than that of the ρ-peak, is found from TSC (thermally stimulated current) spectra of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) electrets which possess a higher degree of planar orientation and a larger crystallinity (>30%) or are γ-irradiated by a larger dose (>200 Mrad). The nature of the τ-peak is still the detrapping of trapped charge carriers, but the trap depth represented by the τ-peak is deeper and the ability of the trapping charge carriers is better as compared with that of the ρ-peak
