Abstract :
Gas circulators are critical to the safe and economic operation of nuclear power stations. When significant maintenance work or design changes are required for the gas circulators, plant engineers must provide detailed justifications of proposed changes which demonstrate that relevant technical and safety criteria have been satisfied. The paper describes the Gas Circulator Design Advisory System (GCDAS) which is a Web based decision support system utilising case based, knowledge based and database techniques to provide engineers with focused and prioritised information relating to a requested design change
