Abstract
The authors describe the use of a genetic algorithm to optimize parameters such as beam widths, weights and angles in radiation therapy treatment planning. The desired optimization goal involves minimizing the normal tissue dose and giving the target volume at least the minimum dose required while not exceeding a given amount are considered the goals in optimizing
