Abstract :
The radiated, radio-frequency, electromagnetic field portion of the Basic International EMC Standards is concerned with generating a uniform field of electromagnetic energy and impressing that field upon an electronic-based piece of equipment. The challenge of testing laboratories to duplicate the same test conditions on a consistent basis revolves around the measurement uncertainty of the test equipment utilized and test setup of the subject test. The basic problem is analyzed by a tabular systemic method and includes a statistical approach to the uncertainty issue. The uncertainty of the system measurement is then discussed relative to the measurement process and the calibration process of the test for laboratory accreditation purposes based on a series of real measurements
