Abstract :
With the rapidly increasing demand for high-speed computing, multi-core/many-core processors emerge as the future development direction in the industry. However, most applications cannot match with the present multi-core platform, which makes the optimization research of multi-core platform very necessary. The optimization varies with applications and platforms; therefore we need to exploit the optimization approaches proceeding from DPI system characteristics. In this paper, we tried to introduce two kinds of optimization approaches after specific profiling of hardware and software. One is about decreasing migrations of real-time protocol analyzing thread and the other thread in DPI application, whose threads are both heavy-load. The other optimization approach is about splitting heavy-load thread when threads´ load of DPI cannot be quite evenly distributed among cores. As for each approach, we described the clues of optimization clearly, and revealed the optimization results and reasons. By comparing the data before and after optimizations, we showed potentials of DPI optimizations on multi-core platform.
