  • Abstract
Summary form only given. Universities are developing highly innovative technological products, without any commercial outlets. Customers in the marketplace demand new innovative products that will astonish, delight and surprise them. Innovation and technology management are key ingredients in university engineering product design courses. An innovation process model has been applied and developed further to form a technology transfer process model. If this is followed and coupled with a coherent strategic plan, this will ensure that these innovative technological products will be successful in the marketplace
