Abstract :
We present an efficient CD estimation and compensation method for CO-OFDM based on training symbol time-domain averaging (TSTA) and systematically investigate its robustness against transmission impairments such as the nonlinearity of MZ modulator, linewidth and frequency offset of laser. Numerical simulations are performed for a 112-Gb/s CO-OFDM system. Simulation results indicate that TSTA method can estimate and compensate for CD very well and only leads to 0.3 dB system penalty. Meanwhile, it merely occupies a little system resource.
