Abstract
Price node (Pnode) and aggregate price node (Apnode) definitions are important for the efficient standard market design in the ISO New England (ISO NE). Properly defined Pnode set can provide market participants with the right price signals. The way the Pnodes are defined affect many aspects of implementing and using the market system. This includes such issues as capabilities of vendor´s software and database maintenance. In this paper, the locational marginal prices (LMPs) in the New England power system are analyzed and three alternatives for the Pnode definition are investigated. Advantages and disadvantages of each alternative are discussed.
