Abstract
Implementation of the multi-point discharge system (MPDS) instead of conventional lightning rods results in significant improvement of the lightning protection of the premises. The full size of the properly designed and installed MPDS prevents the direct lightning strokes into the protected area, while the MPDS of lesser size with reduced number of points of discharge significantly decrease the number of the direct strokes occurrence with an increased zone of protection compared to the protective zone of the lightning rod
