Abstract
Measurements of the plasma channel conductivity radial profile produced by the high current REB with the following parameters : l/sub e/ = 2.5 x 10/sup 4/ A beam current, the electron energy E/sub e/= 1 x 10/sup 6/ eV and pulse duration t= 60 x 10/sup -9/s , which was injected in metallic drift tubes with Ar or N/sub 2/:O/sub 2/ mixture at pressure P= 0.1 to 600 Torr are presented.
