Abstract
The diagnostics used to measure the voltage and current of the vacuum diode used in the high power microwave generator at Texas Tech University are discussed. The current probe is a transmission line Rogowski coil that has demonstrated nanosecond risetinies and has an output proportional to the excitation current for approximately 70 nanoseconds. The voltage probe is a software compensated resistive divider.
