Abstract :
The urban forestry plays a leading role in improving the urban ecological environment. At present, the slow arboreal growth, the heavy municipal pollution, and the relatively high maintenance cost, coupled with the limited local revenue lead to the tardy development of urban forestry in the north part of China. Along with development of economy and living standards, the demand of residents on the good ecological environment will also increase. Under the circumstance of inadequate investment in urban forestry, the survey shows that residents have strong willingness to pay for the improvement of urban ecological environment. Therefore, corresponding countermeasures are proposed on the participation of the residents in community-based organizations, urban forest ecological compensation and returning farmland to forest according to the analysis of the issues existed in the boreal urban forests, to promote the coordinative development in the ecological function, the social function and the economical function of urban forestry.
