Abstract
Electrophysical effects in plasma produced by charged particle beams (I>10/sup 7/W/cm/sup 2/) interactions with metal targets are discussed. A numerical solution of electron magnetic hydrodynamic equations for such plasma is considered. Hydrodynamic calculations are used to determine density and temperature profiles in plasma. We show that an inhomogeneous plasma polarization accounts for several experimentally observed effects. Namely, electric currents between a target and a probe in plasma and anomalous stopping of an intense electron beam in thin foil are explained.
