Abstract
We report the results of an experimental and modeling investigation of a high temperature superconducting opening switch. The switch was fabricated using a thin film of YBaCuO on a strontium titanate substrate and a lanthanum alumunate substrate. Also a BiSrCaCuO film on lanthanum alumunate was investigated. A Nd:YAG pulsed laser was used as a triggered source at the fundamental, second and third harmonic. When one of the critical parameters of a superconductor exceeds the critical value, it makes a transition to a nonsuperconducting state (high resistance state).
