Abstract
Using fuzzy clustering approach, this paper studies the problem of state identification of road traffic. Firstly, the characteristics of road traffic are analyzed in fuzzy theory views. Then the basic steps of road traffic state identification are designed based on the fuzzy clustering method. At last a demonstration is given with a throughway traffic data of China. The result shows that fuzzy clustering is promising in the dynamic identification of road traffic state.
