Design and implementation of auto-creating course streaming media system based on distance management

The network education has been applied widely in universities. The use of multimedia teaching resources is more important. It is a great amount of workload that the course streaming media as a main type teaching resources is created. So, we developed an auto-creating course streaming media system to solve the problem. The course streaming media can be created automatically according to the course schedule by the system. The system is composed of course recording subsystem and distance management subsystem. The course recording subsystem functions cameras control, video and audio collections and streaming video creating. The distance management subsystem can implement system management and monitor in deferent place by Internet. The course streaming created by the system adopted WMV9 criterion. A lot of valuable course videos have been made by the system in recent two years. These course videos have been applied in network teaching and achieved gratifying results.
