Abstract
By analyzing the principle of the quasi-optimal satellite selection algorithm and the fast satellite selection algorithm, this paper puts forward a new satellite selection algorithm. In order to increase satellite selection speed and improve satellite selection effect, the new algorithm makes use of two satellites´ comparability and the distribution characteristic of satellites with high or low elevation to choose satellites. This algorithm can get a GDOP value close to the minimal GDOP, and its computation amount is very small. Moreover, the simulation result indicates the effectiveness of the new satellite selection algorithm.
