Abstract :
In this research, a piezoelectric polymer film is used to measure the vibrations resulting from torque ripple produced by a switched reluctance machine (SRM). The advantages of the sensor are flexibility in terms of placement and inclusion into existing drive systems, relatively low-cost, and durability. The results of time domain simulation and hardware experiment are shown to validate the use of the sensor for measurement of torque ripple induced vibrations, which may be useful for closed-loop vibration control in SRMs
