Abstract
This paper presents an algorithm for the computation of inter-modulation distortion (IMD) levels in RFIC power amplifiers (PAs). It is intended for PA behavioral models as part of a computer-aided IMD test setup. The algorithm and associated method are necessary to overcome convergence problems encountered when solving systems of nonlinear equations derived from the PA behavioral models. The efficacy of the proposed method and algorithm is highlighted with a numerical example showing a case of non-convergence during IMD computation, and the application of the algorithm to circumvent the problem.
