  • Abstract
    A 10-in-diagonal full-color AMLCD (active matrix liquid crystal display) adopting a halftone-grayscale method has been developed with improvement in its pixel configuration. Each pixel is divided into three subpixels with the subpixel-area ratio of 2.0:0.5:7.5. The developed AMLCD shows no contrast-reversed phenomena and remarkable reduction of chromaticity change, and achieves viewing angle twice as wide as with a conventional AMLCD.<>
