Abstract
This paper presents a novel implementation of a position sensorless vector control scheme for a 40-kW permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) system in super-high speed (>50,000 rpm) applications. A novel sensorless vector control scheme based on a flux observer with phase compensation has been developed and performance investigated. The implementation features a cost-effective solution with a digital controller based on TMS320F2407A (DSP) and a compact intelligent power module. Experimental results operating up to 60,000 rpm are presented to verify the novel implementation
