Abstract
To help the electrical circuit designer better understand what is involved in a hybrid circuit design and to aid the designer hybrid-compatible circuits, the author presents a tutorial on the design of a power hybrid circuit. The structure of a power hybrid circuit is given along with the device´s material properties and dimensions. Thick film and copper-on-ceramic techniques are presented. The designer can use the information to understand both the electrical and thermal limitations of such circuits. An example of a 2 MHz, off-line, thick-film-hybrid DC-DC-converter is provided
