  • Abstract
This paper describes the use of a set of EMG sensors as an input device capable of continuous 1-D input. This device can be used as a simple 1-of-N switch. The device has been tested with 9 people without any physical disability and one amputee participant in a complementary study. The target acquisition time was approx. 1.5 seconds for N = 2 and less than 3 seconds for N = 8. The performance of the amputee was comparable to the performance of other participants.
