Abstract :
Using multiple-input-multiple-output processing for terrestrial multi-path channels is well known. We describe here its use in reducing a terminalpsilas aperture for line-of-sight satellite communications. Differential delay and Doppler between a satellite-pair are equalized at the hub transmitter (for a point-to-point system employing a 2times1 space-time encoder) or the remote receiver (for a dual-satellite polarization diversity system for point-to-multipoint applications) via interference cancellation. System performance is provided for both cases.
