Abstract :
Total quality management (TQM) is a relatively new field in the management science discipline. Only recently has its potential been realised in the arena of software development. The application of TQM concepts, methods, and practices has been limited. The author suggests that the `total´ concept be applied to software engineering as a whole, and that the integration of the two fields be a full university course. Examples are also shown to illustrate how TQM may be implemented in software engineering
