Abstract :
The actuality of constructions management in China is investigated. All main problem phenomena in engineering projects could be divided into 20 categories and 261 sub-categories. On the help of diagnosis thoughts in other science subjects, the characteristics of problem phenomena and their parameters are refined and determined by means of information reduction in rough set. 113 diagnosis indexes are educed by the mapping principle of set theory from these parameters. The weights of 113 indexes are determined according to the judgment of 65 project management specialists; and the diagnosis index system of engineering projects is set up. The research result proves that the idea of diagnosis can be used to identify and analyze problems in engineering project management efficiently.
