With the development of society, more and more people begin to pay attention to the negative effects on natural and social environment which caused by consumption of resources and energy. The requirements of sustainable development have been responded in many economy fields. Products research and development is one of vital links impacting on sustainable development of enterprise, economy, and even society as a whole. By analyzing some more advanced methods of traditional product development methods, we find, on account of limitations of Author or the background of times, Although these methods have being continuously improving in costs and cycle of product development, which is even close to perfect, it is not enough to consider on the sustainable development in a way. Therefore, aim at four differential sustainable development requirements on enterprises, environment, product development itself, combing of theoretical knowledge we learned, we put forward to four design ideas of product development methods based on sustainable development, And hoping to find more specific methods in further study.
