Abstract
This paper emphasizes on the effect of changing control variables of intake and exhaust manifold and their corresponding effect on engine performance characteristics such as power, torque and volumetric efficiency. It also focuses on the designing and simulation of intake and exhaust manifold according to the rules of Formula SAE considering packaging, weight reduction and cost effectiveness. It also highlights the importance of tuning the engine along with the procedures used to fine tune the engine. It involves the computer aided engineering by using the concept of senor bridging and representation-bridging communication. Overall this paper accounts for the research involved about the working of engine and its significant performance factors considered while designing an engine along with the guidelines for designing required for Formula SAE.
