Abstract
The present paper analyzes different three-level DC/DC converter control schemes. The main benefit of the three-level half-bridge inverter is the soft switching possibility without any additional components. A brief overview of different soft switching possibilities is given. Problems encountered and features are explained and simulated. An optimal solution for high input voltage (ges2 kV) and output power (ges20 kW) applications is proposed. The results are verified on a 50 kW prototype of the three-level half-bridge DC/DC converter.
