Abstract :
Some orthogonal properties of controllability subspaces related to the eigenstructure assignment are studied. These properties lead to a precise result in the numerical work of assigning both eigenvalues and eigenvectors. Some criteria are given to indicate during the initial partial pole assignment whether or not it can be conveniently extended to full assignment
