Abstract
In this work, we report on a signal up-conversion by using an semiconductor optical amplifier- Mach-Zehnder interferometer (SOA-MZI) wavelength converter based on a cross phase modulation (XPM) effect in SOA. This scheme shows not only a high conversion efficiency and an immunity to polarization but also a good linearity and a low input optical power requirement.
