Abstract :
In order to reduce four-wave mixing (FWM) noises in FSK-modulation/direct-detection FDM lightwave transmission systems, combination of dual deviation frequencies in the FSK modulation and asymmetric repeated unequally spaced frequency allocations is proposed, and FWM noises are theoretically analyzed. It is found that the crosstalk decreases by 8.59 dB and the allowable input optical power increases by 5.36 dB than those of the previous best results.
