  • Abstract
A bang bang controller for vibration reduction in a rotational flexible beam is designed so as to produce a feedback dynamics equivalent to that generated by a pre-assigned continuous controller. The planar flexible beam represented by a Euler-Bernoulli model is considered as a prototype of a flexible structure. This beam is submitted to large rotations and equipped with a pre-assigned linear feedback controller. The comparative behavior of the flexible beam, submitted to the ensuing bang bang controller and to its pre-assigned linear counterpart, is analyzed by means of simulation experiments
