Abstract :
The new playback signal processing system which can play back the large-capacity optical disc over 25 GB in the same optical system as Blu-ray Disc of current state has been developed. Generally, as a capacity of optical disc increases, a read-out signal of minimum pits is remarkably degraded. The proposed system consists of PRML circuit and the waveform correction circuit that only controls a read-out signal of minimum pits. As the result of BER measurements on the playback of 30 GB optical disc, a better BER performance was obtained.
