Abstract
The problem of observer-based detection filter design in time varying systems is discussed. Robustness issues with respect to time-varying perturbations are considered. Using geometric concepts to design the filter, it is possible to construct an extended time-invariant system and associated observer such that the solution of the design problem can be performed using algebraic methods similar to the case of time-invariant situations
