Abstract
By using optimized Bragg reflection concepts, it has been possible to design a Ku-band high-power low-pass filter with spurious band suppression up to 40 GHz in rectangular waveguide technology. The new prototype consists of a classical E-plane corrugated high-power low-pass filter cascaded with a quasi-periodic structure optimized to reject the out of band spurious signals. An interesting feature of this structure is that it does not impose limitations on the gap aperture of the original E- plane corrugated high-power low-pass filter. Experimental results confirm the potential of this new design as a possible candidate for future satellite communications output multiplexer low-pass filters.
