Abstract
This paper presents descriptions of micropumping techniques. Several of these operating principles can be integrated into biomedical analysis systems. Design issues for micropumps are discussed along with the advantages and disadvantages of differing techniques. A new design for a micropump that allows for incorporation into biomedical analysis systems is described. By utilizing this design, microscale low cost, portable systems can be achieved
