  • Abstract
    This paper reviews the service which will be provided by TETRA (Terrestrial Trunked Radio) based Professional Mobile Radio (PMR) systems and discusses how this service could be pragmatically integrated into UMTS access and service models. The scenario for convergence with UMTS is discussed and a possible evolution path, to realise TETRA as an integrated part of communications with the 21st Century is outlined
