Abstract :
In this paper a comparative study of LINC based amplifiers and LINC-like amplifiers designated herein as Mode- Multiplexing amplifiers is briefly reported. The latter technique uses a novel signal decomposition algorithm to enhance the power efficiency of the system. In addition it offers greater robustness to branch´s imbalance, which results into an extension of the dynamic range of the system. Computer simulation based on an analytical formulation as well experimental validation were carried out to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method in comparison to standard LINC technique.
