Abstract :
This paper proposes a new adaptive frequency estimation algorithm using the variable sampling rate; that is, this processing is the adaptation of time t in signal (t). The feature of the proposed method is to use the variable sampling rate, which is changed under the estimated frequency using the synchronous addition and subtraction (SAS) method. First, we show the principle of an estimation algorithm for a single sinusoid. Then, we introduce the estimation method for multiple sinusoids. Second, we examine the characteristics of this estimation algorithm by computer simulation, and the proposed algorithm is also compared with the conventional frequency estimation methods in terms of both the estimation accuracy and computational complexity. Finally, the proposed algorithm is applied to detect the dual tone multifrequency (DTMF) signals
