Abstract :
We present the first experimental demonstration of a phase-locked polarization maintaining narrow linewidth Yb-doped fiber laser array. Steady coherent far-field pattern with an average fringe contrast as high as 0.87 is realized for long observation time. The fringe contrast is higher than former experiment results that have been reported. The 10dB linewidth of the fiber laser is about 0.1 nm. Successful attempts of phase locking show the potential of phase-locked seed laser array for coherent beam combining of high power fiber lasers using MOPA configuration.
