Abstract :
A new signal modulation format used for a tracking radar showing very low probability of detection and interception is proposed. The radar working principle is based on the application of spread spectrum-frequency hopping technique. The surveillance is done radiating a very low power microwave signal during very short pulses spread randomly over a large bandwidth dramatically reducing the radiated energy. A simulation SW has been developed to study the system performance under different conditions, and a system demonstrator has been built using low to medium cost component technology
