Abstract
Given the broad scope of the competition rules and the potentially serious consequences of infringing those rules, it is important to ensure a degree of familiarity with the law amongst employees and management to reduce the likelihood of inadvertent infringements and to increase the knowledge within the company of the likely penalties for infringement and thus reducing the risk of any intentional infringement of the laws. Both the UK and EC competition laws are briefly reviewed
