Abstract :
Several possibilities for the implementation of transmission line filters based on metamaterials are presented and discussed in this paper. The proposed designs take advantage of different aspects of metamaterial behaviour to achieve competitive filter performance. A combination of right and left-handed transmission lines is used for a design of miniature stepped-impedance resonators and filters either for a suppression of spurious responses or for achievement of a dual- band response. On the other hand, an analytical method for the synthesis of wideband band pass filters is exposed. In both cases, the dual transmission line approach has been considered.
