Abstract :
Dense Wavelength Division Communication (DWDM) systems require optical components which can multiplex (demultiplex) closely spaced channels. Channel dropping filters using ring resonators are significant due to their compactness and high wavelength selectivity. We propose a design for a sixteen channel integrated SOI ring resonator multiplexer for the 100 GHz spacing system for ITU (International Telecommunication Union) standards.
