Abstract :
A simple distributed "no look-ahead" call setup protocol is proposed for all-optical wavelength-routing networks. This call set-up protocol is designed for networks with installed wavelength changers and supports both fixed route and alternative route call set-up. The proposed protocol is analyzed using an elementary route resource model and is shown to have near-optimal call connection probability
