Abstract
A novel strict positive real criterion of rational functions, computational tractability, is proposed. By applying the criterion to a class of interval denominator systems, the related extreme point results for robust strict positive real stabilization with a first-order controller are derived, showing that the controller design procedure for the interval systems can be greatly simplified
