Abstract
In this paper, the image fusion method based on the typical IHS transformation is discussed. An approach to improve the original IHS transform is introduced in order to overcome the problem that spectral distortion may occur during the merging process. The image fusion method based on improved IHS transformation with weighted average is used to keep the spectral information in intensity component I as much as possible. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method in this paper may offer a feasible solution to the color distortion and spatial details problems.
